Description

This manual describes the Woodward 505 Digital Governor for steam turbines with single or split-range actuators. Released versions are 8200-1300, 8200-1301, and 8200-1302. The option charts below show the differences between the part numbers. Volume 1 of this manual provides installation instructions, describes the control, and explains the configuration (programming) and operating procedures. Volume 2 includes notes on applying the control to specific applications, Service mode information, and 505 hardware specifications. This manual does not contain instructions for the operation of the complete turbine system. For turbine or plant operating instructions, contact the plantequipment manufacturer.

PLC has undergone continuous development and generally has functions such as “switch I/0, analog I/0, and network communication”; However, engineers only need to use switch I/O, a small amount of analog I/O, and simple programming techniques to develop about 80% of industrial applications.

① Acquisition and control of switching values (completed independently by a single machine)
For example, the start stop and timing control of electric motors, the opening and closing control of solenoid valves, the opening and closing control of warehouse doors, the counting control of products, the operation control of robots, production lines, modular machine tools, elevators and other equipment, and so on.

② Acquisition and control of analog signals (completed independently by a single machine)
For example, the collection and PID control of process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow, as well as the collection and control of motion variables such as displacement and velocity.

③ (Connected to the upper computer) as a collector and controller for advanced systems (such as distributed control system DCS) at the field end
1-n PLCs are connected to the upper computer (IPC, HMI, etc.) for network communication. The upper computer realizes “centralized management”, and the PLC realizes “decentralized collection and control”/or “centralized collection and centralized control”.
