Description

FBM232

The FBM232 supports single-ported devices utilizing the Modbus/TCP communication protocol, and provides an Ethernet interface between the I/A Series system and the devices. Refer to PSS 21.

When installing equipment, many lines are often placed together in the wiring slot, which is convenient and aesthetically pleasing. However, during signal transmission, it will be affected by electromagnetic field noise sources generated by other cables. During long-distance transmission, it is more susceptible to electromagnetic interference from different devices, such as motors, power lines, etc., and radio frequency interference, such as radio and radar. The simplest way to solve this problem is to use shielded wires.

The shielding wire (as shown in Figure 3) originates from Europe and is a transmission line wrapped in a metal mesh braid layer outside the signal line. The braid layer is generally copper or tinned copper, which utilizes the reflection, absorption, and skin effect of the metal shielding layer to achieve the function of preventing electromagnetic interference and radiation. Using a shielding layer for grounding, external interference signals can be introduced into the ground by this layer, avoiding interference signals from entering the inner conductor and reducing the loss of transmission signals. Shielding is divided into active shielding and passive shielding. Active shielding is to prevent noise sources from yearning for radiation; Passive shielding is to prevent equipment from being interfered by noise sources. Passive shielding is mainly used for PLC analog signals.

The shielding layer of the shielding wire needs to be grounded. Grounding is divided into single ended grounding and double ended grounding, and cannot be grounded at multiple points. Multiple grounding points can cause potential differences and induced currents due to the different voltages of each grounding point, which in turn can cause interference. Dual terminal grounding is mainly used for high-frequency applications such as encoders. Generally, for analog quantities, single ended grounding is used, that is, one end is grounded and the other end is suspended.
