Product Change
Due to an unrealistic lead time and cost from our current relay supplier, Woodward was forced to design relays with a new supplier. During the evaluation process for the new supplier, we carefully considered trade-offs and were able to retain the most important characteristics of relays; however, there were a few minor features that were not feasible. For clear traceability and backwards compatibility, we created equivalent part numbers of hardware with new relays.This change only affects ATX & Marine variants of current 505 family controls.

Description
The new part numbers have equivalent performance to the previous ones except:
• Marine type approval
No LR and DNV-GL type approval on new items. We intend to offer marine societies on standard 505D, 505XT, and FLEX500 items.
• Random vibration grade
New items are graded for use in control room (RV5 profile) against cab or skid mounted grade (RV1 profile) on previous items according to random vibration test performance. Note: Bulkhead mounted versions were always graded for control room applications.

Product Support Schedule
Effective immediately (September 23, 2024), no new orders of items mentioned under “Item Numbers Being Replaced” in the table above shall be accepted. We request customers order and apply “Replacement Item Numbers“ above. Item numbers being replaced will be marked inactive in Woodward’s ERP system as soon as the last unit is shipped.Woodward intended to secure sufficient old relays to maintain adequate supply until September 2024. However, delivery performance of our current supplier remains unstable, and we may approach customers to update your PO with replacement items or accept delayed shipment.
Woodward recommends following the support plan for items being replaced:
• Repair
1.Requires no old relays and within warranty period  Follows standard repair process.
2.Requires old relays and within warranty period  No repair. Purchase replacement item at flat 50% off your net price, provided the defective relay is shipped to and evaluated by Woodward. Otherwise, we are forced to charge your
net price on replacement.
3.Requires no old relays and outside warranty period  Follows standard repair process.
4.Requires old relays and outside warranty period  No repair. Purchase replacement item at your net price.
