Noise Current Types

Noise currents typically fall into two categories:

Conducted emissions (transmitted via ground loops):

The quality of the system grounding scheme inversely correlates with noise amplitudes in the lines. These emissions are common-mode (line-to-neutral or line-to-ground).
Radiated high-frequency emissions:

Usually capacitively coupled line-to-line and differential in nature.

SR55200-000000 Filter Mounting Requirements

To install filters correctly:

The enclosure must feature an unpainted metallic surface to maximize contact with the filter housing, creating a low-impedance path between the housing and the backplane.
The back panel should have a high-frequency ground strap connection to the enclosure frame or earth ground.
