Mechanical Installation & Protection

General Protection Requirements

Protect the servo amplifier from impermissible stresses.
Do not bend components or alter insulation distances during transport/handling.
Avoid contact with electronic components and contacts.
Overheating Protection: The servo amplifier will shut down automatically if overheated.
- Ensure adequate flow of cool, filtered air into the bottom of the control cabinet.
- Alternatively, use a heat exchanger (see page 27).
Magnetic Field Avoidance:
- Do not mount magnetic field-generating devices directly beside the servo amplifier.
- Install such devices at a distance or shield the magnetic fields to prevent interference with internal components.

Installation Site Requirements

Mount in a closed control cabinet (see page 27).
The site must be free from conductive or corrosive materials.
Refer to page 50 for the recommended mounting position in the cabinet.

Ventilation Requirements

Ensure unimpeded ventilation of the servo amplifier.
Maintain the permitted ambient temperature (see page 27).
Keep the required space clear above and below the servo amplifier (see page 50).

Assembly Instructions

Basic Assembly

Mount the servo amplifier and power supply close together on the conductive, grounded mounting plate in the cabinet.
Fastening Specifications:
- Material: 3 x M5 hexagon socket screws (conforming to ISO 4762)
- Required Tool: 4 mm Allen key
Fan Handling: Remove the fan before mounting the servo amplifier and reinstall it afterward.
- The fan is pre-wired with built-in connectors on the casing that plug into sockets on the underside of the S700.

Fan Removal & Reinstallation (Two Methods)

Method 1

Removal: Gently squeeze the fan casing lengthwise and pull it down.
Reinstallation:
1. Align the fan’s green connector with the socket on the S700.
2. Push the fan onto the connector until the casing clicks into place.
3. Gently squeeze the casing lengthwise to verify full engagement.

Method 2

Removal: Gently squeeze the fan casing crosswise and pull it down.
Reinstallation:
1. Align the fan’s green connector with the socket on the S700.
2. Push the fan onto the connector until the casing clicks into place.
3. Gently squeeze the casing crosswise to verify full engagement.
