Description
1. Intended Use
Critical Note: The motor’s rated voltage must be at least equal to the DC bus link voltage divided by 2 (UnMotor ≥ UDC/2) as produced by the servo amplifier.
2. Functional Safety
- When utilizing the safety function STO (Safe Torque Off), refer to the chapter “Use as Directed” on page 39.
- To achieve PL e or SIL CL3 safety levels, the safe switching of the pulse inhibitor must be periodically tested by analyzing the feedback signal from the safety control (see page 47).
- If using a safety expansion card (S1-2(S3) / S2-2(S4)), strictly follow the instructions provided in the card’s user documentation.
2.3 Prohibited Use
- Potentially explosive areas.
- Environments exposed to corrosive and/or electrically conductive substances (e.g., acids, alkaline solutions, oils, vapors, dusts).
- Direct connection to non-grounded supply networks or asymmetrically grounded supplies with a voltage >240V.
- Marine or offshore applications.
- Fails to meet the requirements of the EC Machinery Directive.
- Does not comply with the EMC Directive or Low Voltage Directive.
- Violates any applicable national directives.
- The S748/772 servo amplifier alone may not be used to control holding brakes in applications where functional safety relies on the brake.
- The servo amplifier contains electrostatically sensitive components. To prevent damage:
- Discharge static electricity from your body before handling the unit.
- Avoid contact with highly insulating materials (e.g., synthetic fabrics, plastic films).
- Place the servo amplifier on a conductive surface during handling.
3. Packaging
- Material: Recyclable cardboard with protective inserts.
- Dimensions: 390 x 600 x 400 mm.
- Labeling: Nameplate affixed to the exterior of the box.
3.3 Storage
3.3.1 General Storage Requirements
- Store only in the manufacturer’s original recyclable packaging.
- Maximum stacking height: 3 cartons.
3.3.2 Environmental Conditions
- Temperature: -25°C to +55°C; maximum temperature change rate: 20K/hour (class 1K4 per EN61800-2, EN 60721-3-1).
- Humidity: 5–95% relative humidity (non-condensing; class 1K3 per EN61800-2, EN 60721-3-1).
3.3.3 Storage Duration
- Less than 1 year: No additional restrictions.
- More than 1 year: Capacitors must be re-formed before commissioning:
- Disconnect all electrical connections.
- Apply single-phase 230V AC to terminals L1/L2 for approximately 30 minutes.
