The Analog I/O module integrated with HART communication within the ProSafe-RS system enables the Plant Resource Manager (PRM) to oversee HART communication devices that are connected to the input and output modules of the Safety Control System (SCS). Additionally, the analog output module permits the PRM client to perform a Partial Stroke Test (PST) on HART-compatible valve positioners that are equipped with the PST functionality.
The event notification feature of HART7 devices facilitates the immediate detection of device malfunctions.
The HART communication functions of the ProSafe-RS system operate without interference and do not exert any influence on the safety functions of the SCS.
When the application logic is engineered to alternate the output state continuously between ON and OFF, at least one of the following conditions must be satisfied:
Each ON state must be maintained for a duration of 500 milliseconds or longer.
Each OFF state must be maintained for a duration of 2,000 milliseconds or longer.
*2. The total load current across all channels is restricted as outlined below, in accordance with the derating specifications that account for the ambient temperature of the modules:
-40 to 40 °C: Maximum 10.56 A (equivalent to 0.66 A per 16 channels)
40 to 50 °C: Maximum 9.71 A (equivalent to 0.66 A per 14 channels)
50 to 60 °C: Maximum 8.85 A (equivalent to 0.66 A per 13 channels)
60 to 70 °C: Maximum 8 A (equivalent to 0.66 A per 12 channels)
*3. This refers to the resistance value of the load during both the ON and OFF states, with the inclusion of the field wiring resistance.
*4. This represents the maximum rated load current applicable to a filament lamp. The inrush current of a filament lamp is permissible up to 10 times the value of this maximum rated load current.
