Description

The S20260-VTS Unit drives only support SFD motor feedback. If you are using SFD motor feedback, no further configuration is required. If you intend to use SinCos or ComCoder as motor feedback, you must utilize the AUX FB (J14) connector, which is not available on Base Unit drives.

Save OptionsThere are three types of save options. It is crucial to understand how to use each type to prevent the loss of configurations.

Download NV – This button saves the parameter settings displayed in S200 Tools to the selected drive. These parameters are stored in the drive’s permanent memory and are retrieved during a power-up cycle.

Download Drive – This button saves the parameter settings displayed in S200 Tools to the selected drive/node. However, unlike Download NV, these parameters are only stored in the drive’s temporary RAM and will not be retrieved during a power-up cycle. It is recommended to use the Download Drive button when testing settings. Once you are satisfied with the settings, click the Download NV button to permanently save them to the drive.

Save/Save As – You can also save the drive’s settings as a configuration file (*.S2C). Note that saving a configuration file does NOT save the settings to the drive. Configuration files are useful for storing multiple drive setups. You can easily download settings to a drive by opening the configuration file in Offline mode and clicking the Download NV/Drive buttons once the correct drive is selected in Online mode. It is advisable to save a configuration file for each setup.

Controller InstallationBefore using an S200-SynqNet Drive, you must first install the Motion Developer’s Kit Software package and SynqNet controller from Motion Engineering Inc. For more information on installation, refer to MEI’s Technical Support website.

Tools Software InstallationFollow the installation instructions provided with the CD-ROM or zip file. See the S200 Tools Software Installation Guide.

S200 Tools supports the following operating systems:

Drive SetupNOTE: The drive serial port (J5) is disabled on SynqNet drives.
If you are using an S200 SynqNet Drive, you need to establish a SynqNet communication link between the S200 SynqNet Drive and the SynqNet motion controller.

Connect one end of an Ethernet communication cable to J11 (SynqNet IN) of the S200 drive and the other end to the SynqNet controller’s OUT port.
