The MVME2300 series of VME boards delivers the performance of Motorola’s Power Plus Architecture, along with the ability to fully customize your application using two PCI Mezzanine Cards (PMCs). Leveraging Motorola’s PowerPC 603™ or PowerPC 604™ 32-bit microprocessors, the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus for on-board peripherals, a processor/memory bus-to-PCI bus bridge, and a VME interface, the MVME2300 processor modules pack optimal levels of flexibility and performance into a single VME slot.

IEEE P1386.1 Compliant PMC Slots

The MVME2300 is equipped with dual PMC ports that support both front-panel I/O and P2 I/O. PMCs utilizing P2 I/O — and designed in accordance with the PMC committee’s recommendations for PCI I/O when using the VME64 extension connector — are pin-out compatible with the MVME2300.

Beyond enabling high-performance expansion I/O, these IEEE P1386.1 compliant PMC ports establish a common architecture for future product generations. This flexibility allows you to address changing I/O requirements by simply replacing PMCs while reusing the same base platform, ultimately lowering long-term ownership costs.
