2. Unpacking and Device Inspection

2.1 Safe Unpacking

Unpack the MCP-1004 using a utility knife with a retractable blade. Cut along the carton’s seam only – avoid deep cuts to prevent scratching the module’s casing.

Remove all packaging materials (foam inserts, anti-static bags, cardboard) and retain them temporarily for return or storage (if needed for future maintenance).

2.2 Visual and Functional Check

Inspect the MCP-1004’s exterior for physical damage: check for cracks on the front panel, bent pins on terminal blocks, or loose components (e.g., LED indicators).

Confirm the model number “MCP-1004” and serial number (located on the side label) match the purchase order and delivery note.

3. Physical Mounting

3.1 Position Marking

4. Cable Connection

4.1 Power Cable Installation

Critical Safety Step: Ensure the main power supply (24 V DC) is turned off and locked out/tagged out (LOTO) to prevent electrical shock.

Identify the MCP-1004’s power terminals (labeled “V+” for positive, “V-” for negative, and “PE” for protective earth) – refer to the user manual’s terminal diagram for confirmation.

Strip 6 mm of insulation from the power cable ends. Insert the “V+” wire into the “V+” terminal, “V-” into “V-”, and PE wire (if used) into “PE”. Tighten the terminal screws to 1.5 N·m.

Wrap the terminal area with insulation tape to secure the connections and prevent accidental contact with adjacent terminals.

4.2 Signal Cable Connection
