1. Monitoring Capabilities

Gas Monitoring: It continuously monitors a composite value of various fault gases (in ppm) or can be configured to monitor only hydrogen gas values, depending on the sensor purchased. The hydrogen sensor has a 100% response to hydrogen (a general fault gas), while the composite gas sensor not only responds 100% to hydrogen but is also sensitive to carbon dioxide, which is an indicator of overheated paper insulation.

Moisture Monitoring: In addition to gas monitoring, the HYDRAN M2 tracks moisture in oil, presenting readings in both % rh and ppm. This is vital as excessive moisture can significantly degrade the performance and lifespan of a transformer.

2. Extended Functionality with Additional Sensors

By connecting additional sensors, such as those for load, oil temperature (both top and bottom tank), or ambient temperature, the HYDRAN M2 can capture more information.
