The HE700-GEN200 acts as a communication bridge between a VME-based control platform and GE FANUC Genius distributed I/O networks. Its dual-channel architecture allows two Genius communication channels to be handled by a single VME-based interface module.
This type of interface was intended for industrial control systems where remote I/O devices could be distributed throughout a machine or process while remaining connected to a central VME controller.
