Important Notes

Only qualified personnel with mechanical engineering knowledge are permitted to install the motor.
Protect the motors from improper stress. In particular, no components may be bent and/or insulation distances altered during transportation and handling.
The installation location must be free of conductive and aggressive substances.
For V3 mounting (shaft end facing upwards), ensure no liquid can penetrate the bearings. For encapsulated installation, consult our Application Department first.
Ensure unobstructed ventilation of the motors and observe the permissible ambient and flange temperatures. If the ambient temperature exceeds 40°C, consult our Application Department first.
Ensure adequate heat dissipation in the surrounding area and at the motor flange to avoid exceeding the maximum permissible flange temperature of 65°C during S1 operation.
Servomotors are precision devices. The flange and shaft, in particular, are at risk during storage and installation — therefore, avoid rough force application; precision requires sensitivity. When mounting couplings, gears, or pulleys, always use the provided tightening thread in the motor shaft and, if possible, heat the output elements. Impacts or brute force will damage the ball bearings and shaft.
Whenever possible, use only backlash-free, friction-locked collets or couplings. Ensure correct alignment of the coupling. Misalignment causes impermissible vibrations and destruction of the ball bearings and coupling.
When using toothed belt drives, strictly observe the permissible radial forces. Excessive radial load on the shaft significantly reduces the motor service life.
Avoid axial load on the motor shaft wherever possible. Axial load significantly reduces the motor service life.
Under no circumstances allow over-constrained mechanical bearing of the motor shaft via rigid coupling and external additional bearings (e.g., in the gearbox).
Observe the motor pole count and resolver pole count, and ensure the pole counts are set correctly on the used servo drives. Incorrect settings can lead to destruction, especially in small motors.
Verify compliance with the permissible radial and axial loads FR and FA.
When using a toothed belt drive, the minimum permissible pinion diameter is derived, for example, from the formula: d M FR min 0 2. (Note: Confirm the formula’s correct formatting with the original technical documentation.)

High Voltage Warning

High voltages up to 900 V!
Risk of death or serious injury if exposed contacts are touched.
Always wire the motors in a de-energized state, i.e., none of the operating voltages of the connected equipment may be switched on.
Ensure the control cabinet is securely locked out (lock, warning signs, etc.). Individual voltages are only switched on during commissioning.
Never disconnect the motor’s electrical connections under load. Under unfavorable conditions, electric arcs may occur, damaging personnel and contacts.
Residual charges in the servo drive’s capacitors can remain at dangerous levels for up to 10 minutes after switching off the mains voltage. Power connections may still carry voltage even if the motor is not rotating.
Measure the DC link voltage and wait until the voltage has dropped below 50V.
