1. Pre-Test Configuration

- Slot 1: Primary communication interface (PROFIBUS DP recommended)
- Slots 2-4: Reserved for expansion modules (NN designation)
1.2 Software Initialization
- Load firmware via CodeMeter License Central (cloud/on-premise deployment)
- Configure CAN bus parameters:
- Data rate: 1 Mbps (minimum 30 messages/sec to avoid “CanDmdTooSlow” error)
- Device addressing: Align with CAN ID discrete inputs
2. Functional Testing
2.1 Power-On Self-Test (POST)
- Monitor LED status sequence:
- Green steady: Normal operation
- Red flashing: Critical fault (refer to diagnostic code 61/63)
2.2 Motion Control Validation
- Execute servo tuning via IndraDrive software:
- PID parameter optimization for connected ELAU SM-140 series motors
- Verify real-time interpolation in multi-axis mode
2.3 Communication Stress Test
- PROFIBUS DP network:
- Inject packet loss (<3%) using ProSoft Configuration Builder
- Validate automatic recovery from “Bus Off” state (code 61)
3. Safety Compliance Checks
- Emergency stop circuit:
- Confirm SIL 3 compliance (IEC 61508) through forced contactor dropout
- PWM signal failure simulation:
- Trigger “Pwm No Signal” alarm (code 54) and verify fail-safe behavior
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Generate XML configuration backup (path: C:\PCBExportFiles)
- Record test parameters:
• CAN bus load: ≤70% • Motor vibration: <2.5 mm/s RMS • Ambient temperature: 0-55°C (IP20)
