The 2301A Full Authority Speed Control regulates the speed or load of diesel/gas engines or steam/gas turbines based on process demand or computer control signals (4–20 mA or 1–5 Vdc). Housed in a sheet-metal chassis with a single printed circuit board, all adjustment potentiometers are front-accessible.
Operational Modes:
- Isochronous Mode: Maintains constant prime mover speed under load variations. Compatible with Woodward load sensors for load-sharing applications.
- Droop Mode: Adjusts speed proportionally to load (via external potentiometer), ideal for infinite bus operations or parallel prime-mover configurations.
Integration & Safety:
- Seamless PLC compatibility via 4–20 mA speed-setting input. Engine shutdown prevention is ensured through configurable low-limit settings.
- Supports reverse-acting controls for compatibility with EGB/PG-EG governors’ ballhead backup/actuator systems.
