Description
7EX484.50-1 Operation Guide
- Safety Precautions
1.1 General Safety
Prior to any operation, ensure the equipment is disconnected from the main power supply and verify zero voltage with a qualified tester.
Only trained and authorized personnel are permitted to install, configure, or maintain the 7EX484.50-1.
Comply with IEC 60947, EN 60204, and local electrical safety standards during all procedures.
Avoid operation in environments with flammable gases, excessive dust, moisture, or extreme temperatures (-25°C to +70°C is the rated operating range).
1.2 Electrical Safety
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as insulated gloves, safety glasses, and anti-static wristbands.
Ensure all wiring complies with the specified cross-sectional area (min. 1.5 mm² for control circuits) and torque requirements (4–6 N·m for terminal screws).
Do not modify the device’s internal components or bypass safety interlocks.
- Installation
2.1 Pre-Installation Check
Inspect the 7EX484.50-1 for physical damage (e.g., cracks, loose terminals) before installation.
Verify that the device model (7EX484.50-1) matches the system requirements and that all accessories (mounting brackets, wiring labels) are included.
2.2 Mounting Procedure
Attach the mounting bracket to the DIN rail (35 mm standard) using the provided clips.
Align the 7EX484.50-1 with the bracket and slide it into place until it locks securely.
Ensure the device is mounted vertically with a minimum clearance of 10 mm on all sides for ventilation.
2.3 Wiring Connections
Connect the power supply: DC 24 V (±10%) to terminals L+ (positive) and M (negative).
Wire the input signals (e.g., current transformers, voltage sensors) to the designated input terminals (refer to the wiring diagram in Section 6).
Connect the output control signals (e.g., trip relay, alarm) to the output terminals.
Secure communication cables (if applicable, e.g., Modbus RTU, PROFIBUS) to the communication port, ensuring shielded cables are properly grounded.
Double-check all wiring for correctness and tightness to prevent loose connections or short circuits.
- Parameter Configuration
3.1 Accessing Configuration Mode
Apply power to the 7EX484.50-1; the LED display will initialize and show the default menu.
Press the “Mode” button for 3 seconds to enter the configuration menu (display indicates “CONFIG”).
Use the up/down arrow buttons to navigate menu items and the “OK” button to confirm selections.
3.2 Saving Parameters
After configuring all parameters, select “SAVE & EXIT” from the main menu.
The display will show “SAVED” to confirm successful storage; the device will restart automatically.
- Operating Procedures
4.1 Startup Operation
Confirm all wiring and parameter settings are correct.
Restore the main power supply to the system.
If in Local mode: Press the “Start” button; the green “RUN” LED will illuminate.
If in Remote mode: Activate the remote control signal via the connected automation system; the device will initiate operation automatically.
4.2 Runtime Monitoring
The LED display shows real-time data: phase current, voltage, operating temperature, or fault codes.
Press the “View” button to cycle through monitoring parameters.
Status LEDs:
Green (RUN): Normal operation
Yellow (ALARM): Warning condition (e.g., overload pre-alarm)
Red (TRIP): Fault tripping (e.g., short circuit, earth fault)
4.3 Shutdown Operation
Local mode: Press the “Stop” button; the “RUN” LED will turn off.
Remote mode: Deactivate the remote control signal via the automation system.
For emergency shutdown: Press the red “EMERGENCY STOP” button (if integrated); reset after resolving the issue.
