Description

Wiring Instructions for 3CP340.60-2

1.Pre-Wiring Preparation

Ensure the power supply is disconnected and verified to be de-energized before starting wiring to prevent electric shock.

Check the contactor’s terminals for damage (e.g., corrosion, deformation) and confirm the wiring environment meets the operating temperature range of -25℃ to +60℃.

Prepare appropriate wires: Use copper conductors with a cross-sectional area of 1.5–10 mm² for main circuits and 0.75–2.5 mm² for control circuits, ensuring compliance with current-carrying capacity requirements.

Equip necessary tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wire strippers) and ensure wire insulation is intact without cracks or wear.
2.Main Circuit Wiring (Power Input/Output)

Power Input Terminals: Connect the three-phase power supply lines (L1, L2, L3) to the contactor’s upper main terminals (marked “L1”, “L2”, “L3”) respectively. Tighten the terminal screws with a torque of 2.5–4 N·m to ensure stable contact and avoid loose connections.

Load Output Terminals: Connect the three-phase load wires (e.g., motor windings) to the contactor’s lower main terminals (marked “T1”, “T2”, “T3”). Ensure the wiring corresponds to the input phase sequence (L1→T1, L2→T2, L3→T3) to prevent motor reverse rotation.

Note: The main circuit wiring must be arranged neatly, avoiding excessive bending or tension, and maintaining a safe distance from control circuit wires to reduce electromagnetic interference.

3.Control Circuit Wiring

Coil Power Terminals: The contactor’s control coil terminals are marked “A1” and “A2” (located on the side of the housing). Connect the control power supply (AC 230V/400V, 50/60Hz) to A1 and A2:

For single-phase control power (AC 230V), connect one wire to A1 and the other to A2 (polarity-independent).

For three-phase control power (AC 400V), connect two phase wires (e.g., L1 and L2) to A1 and A2 respectively.

Auxiliary Contact Wiring: The 3CP340.60-2 is equipped with 1 normally open (NO) and 1 normally closed (NC) auxiliary contact (marked “13-14” for NO, “21-22” for NC). Use these for interlocking, signaling, or auxiliary control:

For interlocking with other contactors: Connect the NC auxiliary contact in series with the opponent’s control coil circuit to prevent simultaneous activation.

For alarm or indicator circuits: Connect the NO auxiliary contact in parallel with the alarm device or indicator light to trigger signals when the contactor is energized.

4.Grounding Wiring

Connect the contactor’s grounding terminal (marked with the grounding symbol “⊕”) to the system’s protective earth (PE) wire using a copper conductor with a cross-sectional area of at least 2.5 mm².

Ensure the grounding connection is firm and low-resistance, complying with local electrical safety standards to prevent electric shock hazards in case of insulation failure.

5.Post-Wiring Inspection

Visually inspect all connections to confirm terminals are correctly matched, wires are tightly fixed, and no bare conductors are exposed.

Use a multimeter to check the insulation resistance between main circuit terminals and between control circuit terminals (should be ≥1 MΩ at 500V DC).

Verify the contactor’s action: Energize the control circuit to confirm smooth closing/opening of main contacts, and check that auxiliary contacts switch correctly without jamming.

After inspection, restore the power supply and conduct a trial run to ensure the contactor operates stably with no abnormal heating, noise, or voltage drops.
